Yes, When a girl turns 15 they throw a wedding-like party. 14 guy attendants & 14 girl attendants and the girl and her date makes 15-with a total of 32 in the "court of honor." They have practices 6 to 8 months in advance of waltzes and ceremonial dances. There is a church service that a preacher gives a message to the girl, and family members give "speeches" of encouragement and appreciation. At the reception, the father ceremoniously takes tennis shoes off the girl and puts high heels on her. 2 Aunts put a special necklace on her, and I think the mother puts a tiera on her head. It's a very special day with lots of meaning. I will post more pictures soon.
